At Home Practice
Individual practice at home is an essential part to finding success and enjoyment in playing an instrument. While formal practice assignments are not given out, band students should be bringing their instrument home multiple times each week.
Each class, students are given a short playing assignment that will be worked on in the next class. This assignment might be review of what was covered in that day's class, or a challenge to figure out something new based on that day's information. Regular individual playing at home (4-6 days per week) in short sessions (10-15 minutes to start) is a great way to develop the skills needed to be successful in music. If playing at home is prohibitive, the band room is available for individual practice every morning (from 7:30-8:30), lunch hours and after school (from 3:30-4:30). If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to email Mr. Ferguson. |
Lessons will be starting Fri. Sept. 27. Click the button below to find the lesson schedule.
If you are absent or unable to attend your lesson, please ensure that you have written your name on the board so that your lesson will be rescheduled. Private LessonsStudents wishing to receive instruction on their band instrument may wish to study privately with a qualified private instructor. Please contact me for a list of suitable private teachers.
